Use Tabuki from search to Canvas

Tabuki keeps the side panel compact, makes every open tab searchable, and gives saved pages a visual home.

Install and open Tabuki

The Chrome Web Store is the recommended installation because Chrome handles updates automatically. Pin Tabuki from the Extensions menu, then click its toolbar icon to open the side panel.

Install the downloadable ZIP manually

  1. Download Tabuki 3.1.1 ZIP and extract it to a permanent folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome or Edge.
  3. Enable Developer mode.
  4. Choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json.

Keep that folder in place after loading it. Watch the visual installation guide on the homepage.

Save and arrange pages on Canvas

Open Canvas from the bottom of the side panel. Drag an open tab into a group or move an existing saved page between groups and exact positions. The page keeps its title, URL, and website favicon automatically; there is no separate icon picker.

Use Canvas search to filter the active Canvas. Group controls let you rename, reorder, insert, or delete groups.

Organize or clean up the current window

The side panel shows a configurable number of recent pages. Choose a preset or enter a custom count; Tabuki remembers it in browser storage. Organize keeps every page open and places the current window into native browser groups. The Recent group remains expanded after organization, while the Other group stays collapsed.

Clean up is a separate action. It closes 10, 30, 50, or a custom number of the least recently used pages, then immediately refreshes the recent list and page count. It never closes the active page, pinned pages, or browser-internal pages. Search remains the route to tabs outside the recent list.

Choose one global theme

A theme selected in the side panel or Canvas applies to both views. Tabuki stores the primary workspace in local extension storage and mirrors supported data through Chrome extension sync storage, subject to browser quotas and account settings.

Keyboard shortcuts

Alt+Shift+K
Open or close the side panel and focus search.
Alt+Shift+O
Open or close Canvas.

Use Set shortcuts in the side panel to open Chrome or Edge's protected extension-shortcut page. Browsers do not allow an extension to assign shortcuts directly.

Free and Pro limits

Free includes one Canvas, three groups, two themes, unlimited saved pages, and supported browser sync. Pro unlocks unlimited Canvases, unlimited groups, and all themes. International users receive a USD $2.99 monthly subscription; mainland-China users can choose one-time 30-day, 365-day, or lifetime access at the live CNY price shown in the extension.
